Archived emails disappear from Airmail

I've recently begun using Airmail Beta in the hopes of maintaining Inbox Zero and using Archives instead of my inbox to store old emails. I tested this by archiving an email and then searching for it on Airmail, and the message was found immediately. However, I am now losing emails as I archive them, and I cannot search for them in Beta. I already reset my cache and let the app spend a day "initializing" and going through my emails. I sent myself another test email to archive, and it has disappeared. I cannot search for it. Gmail in my browser finds all those messages immediately.

I know these messages are supposed to go into my All Mail folder on Airmail, but they don't. They're just gone. I also know this is not how Airmail is supposed to function. What might be causing this problem?

I'm on a new MacBook Pro running High Sierra (version 10.13.2), and my Airmail is up to date.

I'm using Airmail 3 and currently have the same problem - when I archive messages they disappear. I cannot search for them, and they do not appear in my All Mail folder. Is there a solution to this?

I am having the same problem. However, it appears to be intermittent where some archived emails are showing up in Archive and others are not. Also, I am using the alpha version of AirMail 3 and not the beta.

I'm getting the same issue in Airmail 3. But I can find them if I search for them, I just can't figure out where they are being held such that search is finding them. It's not in the Archive folder. This is very concerning. I'd love to use the button to move them to archive but once that happens, they're no longer visible. Would be nice to see a response from the developer on this.

This seems to be a growing issue the past few months. It used to happen every once in a while but now I can't seem to reliable search archived mail - defeating the purpose of archiving.

I can archive an email 30 minutes prior to searching for it and it won't pop up no matter how granular i get with searching key words. It's happening with both gmail accounts.

I then can search and find the email in Mail app on iPhone.

Not sure what's going on. Restart, closing/opening, and rescan not helping.

I can confirm this is happening in the stable version as well, where some mails magically disappear.

I've gotten around this by using a separate folder to archive into for now, but really a dirty work around.

It should be said that mails that disappeared in the archive doesn't show up in the new folder either, despite being present in other mail clients

I now must admit to a different problem - I have tried to unsubscribe from notifications on this thread several times, and I cannot. Can anyone from Airmail or Tenderapp remove me from notifications? I ended up using a different email client that allowed for searchable archives, so I don't need updates here anymore.

Just archived the contents of an email address where I no longer have server access. I cannot access them, although it shows them in the folder based on the number. Advice please? The whole point in archiving was to maintain access.

Please go to Gmail settings and make sure that all the folders are unhidden and enabled for IMAP access.

I'm experiencing the same problem - archived messages just disappear. I have enabled / unhidden all folders on gmail. To what folder / label should the archived messages get moved?

I figured it out - by archiving something in AirMail, it sends it to the corresponding tage determined by gmail. (when i receive flight confirmations, I set up a tag in gmail called "Travel". When I archive these messages in AirMail, it removes the message from my inbox and puts it in the "Travel" tag).
