Is there a way to alter the Markdown composer screen?

What I would like to do is:

  • Have the color of the composer (where I type) be black letters and white background. Currently it is blue letters and a grey background which I find hard to read.
  • Have the preview window be below the composer window. Right now it is to the right of the composer window. Alternately, if there was a way to have the preview window be default off that would work as well.

If there is a config file that I could edit to accomplish this, that would be fine.

Thanks!
